Creative Migration: Advancing Cultural Diplomacy through the Arts

This week, we spotlight Creative Migration, an interesting organization in the local non-profit landscape that is supported by Baht by Baht. Based in Los Angeles and Bangkok, the group's is to advance cultural diplomacy through three pillars: art, public engagement and sustainability. Most recently, they have developed a unique creative hub in the city called Bangkok 1899, to support ongoing projects likes artist residencies, on-site art installations, transmedia works/performances, and community learning initiatives.

This weekend, from Saturday to Sunday, 7 to 8 September 2019, Creative Migration is officially launching Bangkok 1899 with a reception and art exhibition, The Pink Period, by Tiffany Singh.

During her three-month residency, New Zealand Social Practice artist Tiffany Singh has used her multidisciplinary approach to transform Bangkok 1899 into an immersive Social Practice Hub. Looking after her two young children while simultaneously building this exhibition, she exemplifies a new contemporary art paradigm to enable women artists, who are also mothers, to live and work in a supportive residency environment. This new suite of work explores the narrative of Women’s Liberation through objects of the domestic sphere.

Wear pink and come out to explore the exhibition and this new, gorgeous space in old Bangkok! Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served. Register for free tickets here.
